The Enrichment program is for children who have turned three, four or five years
old as of September 1, 2010.
Note specific age requirement for Literacy.
Monday – “Leap into Literacy”
(For Children Four or Five Years Old as of 9/1/10)
The children will engage in activities designed to enhance pre-literacy skills. These include sequencing, rhyming, problem solving, sentence and vocabulary building and listening skills. They will have opportunities to practice reading and writing simple signs, labels, and charts.
Monday – “Books in Action"
Children love books but their enjoyment doesn’t have to stop there. Art, music, puppetry and creative dramatics are just a few of the ways we will enhance and stimulate your child’s love for books and reading.
Tuesday – “What’s Cooking”
The children will be introduced to the skills of measuring, pouring and mixing ingredients through the preparation of a variety of cooking projects. They will have fun while they increase their understanding of math and science concepts as they create delicious and nutritious snacks.
Wednesday – “Blast Off”
10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 let’s “blast off” into outer space! Through hands-on activities, the children will be learning about stars, planets & the work of an astronaut.
Thursday – “Mush, Mix & Mold”
Each week the children will follow a new recipe while they mush and mix to create an interesting modeling compound. They will then have time to mold and create with it.
Friday – “Kids on the Move”
Kids on the Move will include activities such as dancing, aerobics, stretching and parachute play. The children will use their imaginations, creativity and muscles as they exercise, dance, sing and play musical instruments.

To ensure the success of the programs, we must have a minimum enrollment of eight children in each of the classes. For each class, you must sign up for the entire session. Please return this form with your payment, no later than Monday, September 13, 2010. Priority registration for ECC families takes place August 23 – September 7. Registration will open to the public beginning September 7. Registration is on a first come, first served basis, with a maximum enrollment of 16 in each class except for Literacy which has a maximum enrollment of 14.
