Welcome to all our Kehilat Shalom Early Childhood Center Families!
September is approaching and as co-presidents of the ECC PTA at Kehilat Shalom, we are very excited about all the amazing activities we have planned for the 2010-2011 school year. Our 3rd annual Casino Night, holiday playdates, and favorites such as Truck Day are just a sampling of some of the exciting events to come. Additionally, we are pleased to continue our communication venue: Yahoo groups. Here, you will be able to learn all about future PTA events, post messages, photos, and join discussion groups.
The ECC PTA sponsors many of the events your children truly enjoy, such as the Milkshake Concert, Mad Science Program, Tot Shabbat, Pizza Lunch, and End-of-Year Picnic. And, the money we raise goes directly to our children to extend and enrich classroom curriculum, both indoors and outdoors. Last year, the PTA proudly purchased costume prop boxes, a photo printer, science room equipment, and many more items to benefit your children's pre-school experience. We hope this year is a new beginning for the PTA and we look forward to your involvement for a great year!
Please mark your calendar for our "Back to School" playdate on September 1 from 10:00 am to noon at the Ovid Hazen Wells Park in Clarksburg.
Be on the lookout for information on upcoming events. We will keep you informed via e-mail, our web page (www.ksecc.org), our yahoo group and flyers that will be coming home in your child’s school bag.

- Greetings– Eileen
· Shavuot Schmooze (5/19/10): Thank you again to Amanda Fogle, Adam Zeren, Laura Wallace! Almost 50 kids participated.
· List of PTA purchases for the year will be distributed in a flyer format
- Sunshine Committee Update – Randi Bluestein/Jessica Fischer – meals are being provided for a family in need
- Pizza Lunch– Clara Margolis/Allison & Sharon (volunteers needed to serve at 11:20am today)
4. Teacher Appreciation Week (June 1-4) – Tracey Coleman
· Tuesday, June 1st: Basil pots with recipe for tomato and basil salad; $5 grocery gift card
· Wednesday, June 2nd: "Movie night;” 3 bags of microwave popcorn and 2 large candy bars with a $5 gift card to Blockbuster.
· Thursday, June 3rd: Coffee gift; biscotti with either $10 Starbucks gift card
· Friday, June 4th: Teacher Breakfast; Rabbi gift presentation at breakfast; Class gift presentations; Kids to wear favorite color of teacher that day
- Community End of Year Picnic – Sunday, June 6, 2010; 12-2pm – Eileen
· Already have 130+ people attending! RSVP until June 2nd (will be able to pay at door as well)
· Moonbounce, art stations, yummy food (12-1:30pm), family bingo (1pm) AND PETTING ZOO!!!
· Under 2- free; $5 for ages 2-18; $7 for ages 19 +
· PLUS, bring someone new to the picnic and you each will receive 50% off the total admission price. If already paid, please contact Laura Wallace at lauragw@comcast.net for adjusted admission price.
· Need volunteers to help with setup & stations that day
